Westlaw Canada OnePass

October 2009

We’re pleased to announce that Westlaw® Canada will be switching to OnePass sign-on, which will allow you to sign-on to Westlaw Canada and other Westlaw applications with more security, control, and convenience.

With OnePass, Westlaw Canada-issued passwords will be a thing of the past. Users will now create their own username and password that will help protect their identity and the information they access making it easier to remember.

When to switch: The required change will take place in phases beginning November 1, 2009 and continuing until the end of 2010.

The first phase will include users who have changed to OnePass, but who have passwords that are not “strong” or do not meet security requirements. The users within your account who will be part of this first phase will be notified when they login to Westlaw Canada on November 1, 2009. When they sign on they will see a message telling them when they need to create their own username and password. Then they just follow the on-screen instructions.

As an Account Administrator, you will continue to be able to add, deactivate, or edit information through My Account and the Westlaw Canada Reporting System.
