Find and KeyCite by Name Issue Affecting Limited Number of Users

July 17, 2012
Today, we discovered that certain customers are experiencing an issue for Find and KeyCite by Name on Westlaw Canada. These users will be presented with an unusual Pay-Per-View warning screen stating “The database you have requested is not included in your subscription plan. To access 60 (or 61) at an additional charge, click OK”. Clicking OK will generate an error.

This issue affects Find and KeyCite by Name performed on July 17, 2012 only. We have identified the solution and it will be implemented overnight. We will ensure that Pay-Per-View charges will be not be billed. In the interim, users can use the Search Template to complete a search by case name and from there, access KeyCite for that case.

Print, Download and Fax Functionality Issue

June 14, 2010
Please note: it has come to our attention that for a brief period, between the afternoon of Wednesday June 9 and the morning of Saturday June 12 , there was a malfunction in the print, download, fax and email functions of Westlaw Canada. This resulted in omissions of quoted text in an undetermined number of case law documents. During routine quality assurance testing we discovered this malfunction which was then corrected. We believed at the time that it was limited to our internal development environment. Subsequently, however, we have linked at least three customer complaints to this issue. If you printed, downloaded, faxed or emailed any document from Westlaw Canada during the affected period, we advise you to check that version against the current version on Westlaw Canada.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this malfunction may have caused you.
